Summary Description: Responsible for providing support and guidance to HR Business Partners and assigned client groups on Compensation related policies and programs. Responsible for advising clients on job benchmarking and design, market analysis, bonus administration, and pay equity.
Responsibilities:
· Analyzes and makes recommendation on pay changes using external market data and internal calibration.
· Evaluates and approves current and new job descriptions and provides recommendations on job design, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) status, leveling and market value.
· Processes and administers bonus/incentive program for assigned client groups. Responsible for issue resolution, accuracy and timeliness of bonus/incentive payments.
· Collaborates with HR Business Partners and/or client organizations to ensure consistent application of Compensation policies and programs.
· Participates in third party compensation benchmarking surveys including policies and practices questionnaires, and Family Member compensation and pay data. Requires detailed knowledge of the organizations jobs and compensation programs and philosophy.
· Proactively identifies and recommends resolution to Compensation related issues which may include pay equity, FLSA designations, attraction/retention, variable pay, or any matters related pay or compensation.
· May participate and make recommendations on bonus/incentive plan design.
· Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree
Experience:
· 3 years directly related Compensation experience including consultation and compensation analysis
· Ability to communicate well with the general public and experience in establishing and maintaining an effective working relationship with management, vendors, and co-workers
· Ability to work in a team environment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Proficiency in MS Office Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
· Experience administering variable compensation (bonus/incentive/commission) programs preferred
· Proficiency in JD Edwards (as applicable)
· Intermediate knowledge of Human Resources
· Ability to provide guidance and recommendations on Compensation policies and programs
· Advanced professional or theoretical knowledge and fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of a particular field of specialization in the execution of assigned duties and responsibilities
· Basic understanding of budgetary concepts and procedures
· Advanced understanding of departmental structure and policies with basic understanding of the cross-functional structure and policies of Whataburger Restaurants, LLC
· Advanced ability to delegate tasks and get work done through others.
· Ability to prepare and present information to guests, more senior associates, vendors and management
Professional Certification:
· Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred
